Simple customized training

Training is an area where managers are hesitant to spend time and money because the benefits are not clear.  It is also hard to decide if the loss in daily work productivity is compensated by the undefined benefits of the training.

I can help an organization address this issue by creating small-scale, customized training which focuses on specific knowledge areas and benefits.  This is done at low cost because I charge a regular consultant’s rate, not a training company’s inflated rate.

Examples of situations where this kind of lean training is the best option:

  •  When Head Office has required training for all staff but you don’t have a local resource that can deliver it.    
   •  When new technology is introduced, but there is no local subject matter expert.
   •  When you do have a subject matter expert, but the person is too busy with core responsibilities to design and deliver the training.  
   •  Or . . . when you think your people need to have something hammered into their heads.



Methodology:

   •    Define the learning objectives.
   •    Based on the objectives, define and document the content to be covered.
   •    Construct training activities which bring the material to life.
   •    Create a set of tests used to measure results, if desired. (Less fun but it brings focus and discipline.)
   •    Boom . . . you are ready schedule some training sessions.
   •    Deliver training in English, in Japanese, or in both.
